TANcast 021 – NAGcast

October 20th, 2008 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

Despite the title of this week’s episode, it has nothing to do with nagging wives. It does have to do with a special announcement at the beginning, a general lack of Tim throughout the show, and the triumphant return of everyone’s favorite guest, Geoff.

The TANboys (or NAGboys, if you want) talk movies: Seed of Chucky, Secret Life of Bees, Max Payne, Quarantine, and Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. They also get in to TV with a Heroes vs Lost debate and Andy slobbers all over Pushing Daisies. And for the video game lovers, there’s a Soulcalibur IV Q&A.

But it’s not all media related content, the boys manage to find the flaw in “Rock, Paper, Scissors,” remind us that farts are funny, enjoy some calculus goodness, and even weigh in on Joe the Plumber.

There WILL be TANcast

October 19th, 2008 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

(sort of)

While I (Tim) was in Vegas, Noah and Andy (plus a special guest) recorded an episode of the show and it will be up soon! (If the boys will get off their asses and send me their audio)

Plus there’ll be a special announcement on the show…so stay tuned for that!

My geek is showing…

October 16th, 2008 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

Here it is…the first look at the bridge of JJ Abrams’ Enterprise.

(Click the photo to see it full size)

My feelings are mixed…I’m excited by the new look…but also a little disappointed that it’s so different from the classic bridge.

Why make a movie about Star Trek if you just wanna change it all? Make a movie called JJ Abrams’ Wacky Space adventures and leave the legend alone.

I guess I’ll have to wait and see…

My New Calling

October 15th, 2008 . by Andy (TANcast's #1 Ear-Rapist)

This is a meandering tale, so please bear with me.  By the end I will have decided on a new direction to take in my life.

I told a story back in TANcast 012 about how a guy I used to work with had apparently been referring to me as “Mmmmmm, Bear!” to a mutual friend.  I’ll call him “Dude” and the mutual friend “Buddy” in the rest of this post.

Buddy and I were IMing yesterday and at one point the conversation shifted to how Nebraska’s recent “abandoned children bill” was working out for them:

Buddy: I really don’t understand this: 2nd Out-of-State Teen Dumped in Omaha

Andy: Kids gotta learn.

Buddy: “Last week, a 14-year-old girl from Iowa was left at an Omaha hospital by her grandparents. The girl has since been returned to her family.”
Buddy: How do you recover from that? How can you trust your family after they leave you?

Andy: You wait a few years, then kill them for the insurance.
Andy: Make it look like an accident…

TANcast 020 – The Train Wreck

October 13th, 2008 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

Instead of a glorious, special TANwife guest filled celebration of the 20th episode of TANcast…the whole thing goes off the rails and the show falls to pieces. Apologies for the poor audio quality this week.

If you can stand to listen, you’ll hear Tim talk Star Trek (Suck it, haters!!!), you’ll hear about the “great” LA fire of 2008, you’ll barely be able to make out stories of Andy’s stinky baby, and you’ll year the TANgang weigh in on the election (and it still turns to talk of Star Trek…EAT IT, HATERS!!!)

You’ll hear TANreviews of various TV shows like Supernatural, CSI, House, Pushing Daises and more, plus Noah’s misadventures with small children, tales of the Lost Episode of TANcast, and Soul Caliber inspired video game talk.

This week’s TANlaugh submitted by James T. Kirk (MUNCH IT, HATERS!!!)

TANcast 019 – This Never Happens on SModcast

October 6th, 2008 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

In an episode plagued with technical difficulties, the TANboys discuss Noah’s wedding reception, a cool haunted house in Redwood city (a link to that is coming soon), and why TANWifeCast isn’t likely to happen.

Then TANreviews of Grind House, Forgetting Sarah Marshal, and Soul Caliber 4.

Plus tales of cross-dressing laundry misadventures, a spew of hate from Tim, a tip on how get your family to hate each other from Andy, a roast of the Saget Roast, The boys plan to stalk Giada, and finally a shout out to all the wonderful  P.W.H.B.T.T.D.T.C.U.W.A.N.F.P.W.L.T.Y.S.P.’s out there!

We’re in the Zune Marketplace, baby!!!

October 2nd, 2008 . by TANcast Admin

It took several weeks, but you can now find the TANcast podcast in the Zune software’s “Marketplace”, filed under “Entertainment – Comedy” .  We were already on iTunes, so this extends our reach just a bit further than before.

This means we also have the ability to give you Zune users (Tony and… ?) a nifty direct-subscibe link that will launch the Zune software.  The site’s “All Our Feeds” section on the main page has been updated with this new link, for the benefit of any future listeners who might need it.

If we are missing any other “podcast aggregator” programs or services that you’d like to see TANcast added to, please leave a note in the comments.
