So I did a show tonight…had a lot of fun…but one joke and it’s reaction stuck out to me. I was talking about Michael Jackson’s memorial…
“Magic Johnson was there. That tripped me out. If you went back to 1993 and said to the people there, ‘In 2009, there’s going to be a funeral that will involve Michael Jackson and Magic Johnson…who will be speaking and who will be in the casket?’ I would say 98% of people would have picked the wrong guy.”

Because Orly Taitz can’t read, I offer the following open letter to all “birthers” and related fucktards who insist, at great volume and with absurd conviction, that Barack Obama is not eligible to be President of the United States as he is not a “a natural born Citizen” (see Article Two, Section 1, Clause 5 of the US Constitution).
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Please note the “born … in the United States” part.
In 1898, the Supreme Court ruled that under the terms of that Amendment, two non-citizens who aren’t diplomats or otherwise working on behalf of their home country and who live and work in the US, will give birth to US citizens while on US soil.
Read that again: It says two NON-citizens.
Obama had a natural-born mom, a (legally) resident dad, and a birth on US soil.
Only that last part matters.
PS: Happy Birthday, President Obama. Get some cake, and then get back to fixing health care. And the economy. And that leak in my roof.

It was a year ago today that I hopped in my crappy little car, cracked up the music of Jerry Goldsmith, and headed to a doomed land of paradise for the final time. Today is the one year anniversary of my final trip to Star Trek: The Experience.
It was hard to take this picture with tears in my eyes
But today as I discovered the ride ticket from that faithful day it made me nostalgic..and also pissed off! There was talk of the Experience re-opening in Downtown Las Vegas in time for the new movie…obviously that has come and gone. Then it was supposed re-open “in phases” with the public first being allowed in sometime in 2010. However, folks in Vegas report that there is no work being done on it! C’mon people! Star Trek was the 5th highest grossing movie this year! The Vegas Star Trek Convention begins in 2 days! What are you waiting for? It only took one movie to bring Spock back to life…and that was a whole dead person. This is just moving some sets across town! Read the rest of this entry »

This week they discuss the perils of home ownership, Andy’s dream, eating in a big group, racism, a moment of seriousness about death, another crappy lay off, IM etiquette, movies (Indiana Jones, The Orphan, 500 Days of Summer, District 9, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, A Perfect Getaway, My Sister’s Keeper, the Lake House), and Andy gets mocked for his Crocs…yet again.

Just a quick note to let you know I am still around. I am moved into our new house and we(mostly my wife) have been making it into a home. Hence no proper Tancast for the last two weeks. I also am on a Jury until the end of August and still doing work for my job. So, it has been a busy last couple of weeks for me.
