The boys review Inglorious Bastards and District 9, Tim and Noah reminisce about their old movie theater, they boys try and solve the murder of Michael Jackson, Andy doesn’t do anything illegal, Van gives his other podcast picks, Van weighs in on the Croc-fight, Andy reveals the danger of baby bombs, the boys talk Apple for a bit, Tim and Noah ponder the consequences of replacing Andy then Noah stops recording…but the show goes on.

I had a little bit of Comcast info I wanted to tweet about, but Twitter went down as I was typing.

Oh, before I forget…

Dear Fucktards at Comcast: Please stop breaking the Internet by replacing valid DNS error messages with search (plus ads!) pages. If any customers want you to break their Internet access, let them opt IN, instead.

Where was I? Oh, right. Twitter.

Twitter has been down for the better part of an hour now, so I went to Facebook to bitch to my meatspace friends and family about not being able to tweet. Turns out Facebook is all kerfucked, too. Attempts to post, to filter who is displayed, or even to load some pages fail with a variety of internal Facebook errors (“AJAX timeout… Are you connected to the Internet?”) or general HTTP failures (“The page at http://facebook.com/ is taking too long to respond…”).

I grumbled to myself, then remembered I run a blog. Moments later I was typing this post and reveling in self-hosted uptime goodness.

Twitter and Facebook = FAIL

TANcast = WIN

PS: If you’re a Comcast subscriber (and oh my <deity>, do I wish there was actual competition in the broadband market), you can fix your DNS behavior by opting out of their fucktacular mess.

PPS: I’ve added “fucktard”, “kerfucked”, and “fucktacular” to my browser’s spell check dictionary.

PPPS: I’ll try to remember crowing in this post the next time I break TANcast.

So I did a show tonight…had a lot of fun…but one joke and it’s reaction stuck out to me. I was talking about Michael Jackson’s memorial…

“Magic Johnson was there. That tripped me out. If you went back to 1993 and said to the people there, ‘In 2009, there’s going to be a funeral that will involve Michael Jackson and Magic Johnson…who will be speaking and who will be in the casket?’ I would say 98% of people would have picked the wrong guy.”

You guessed wrong!

Because Orly Taitz can’t read, I offer the following open letter to all “birthers” and related fucktards who insist, at great volume and with absurd conviction, that Barack Obama is not eligible to be President of the United States as he is not a “a natural born Citizen” (see Article Two, Section 1, Clause 5 of the US Constitution).

Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution states:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Please note the “born … in the United States” part.

In 1898, the Supreme Court ruled that under the terms of that Amendment, two non-citizens who aren’t diplomats or otherwise working on behalf of their home country and who live and work in the US, will give birth to US citizens while on US soil.

Read that again: It says two NON-citizens.

Obama had a natural-born mom, a (legally) resident dad, and a birth on US soil.

Only that last part matters.

It was a year ago today that I hopped in my crappy little car, cracked up the music of Jerry Goldsmith, and headed to a doomed land of paradise for the final time. Today is the one year anniversary of my final trip to Star Trek: The Experience.

I talked about my trip (and was mocked for it) on TANcast Episode 11 and there is some video of it on an episode of Tim Babb’s Kingdom Comedy called “Save Star Trek-The Experience”.

But today as I discovered the ride ticket from that faithful day it made me nostalgic..and also pissed off! There was talk of the Experience re-opening in Downtown Las Vegas in time for the new movie…obviously that has come and gone. Then it was supposed re-open “in phases” with the public first being allowed in sometime in 2010. However, folks in Vegas report that there is no work being done on it! C’mon people! Star Trek was the 5th highest grossing movie this year! The Vegas Star Trek Convention begins in 2 days! What are you waiting for?
