TANcast 244 – So…2008?

June 3rd, 2013 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

For TANcast’s 5th anniversary, the boys share some dorky Star Trek thoughts, Noah does some lightning round movie reviews, the boys discuss different podcasts, and the boys review Star Trek Into Darkness (with Spoilers…skip them by forwarding to 60:01 when you hear the warning).

[CONTENT WARNING] TANcast features mature language and immature hosts but is NOT a representation of the stand up act of Tim Babb. Listener discretion is advised.

I remember the first episode i ever heard… It was the Never Ending Story and i came here from Van at NETCOT. Ever since then TANcast has surpassed every other podcast in my feed. Whenever an episode of TANcast comes down the pipeline, i must stop listening to whatever it is i am listening to and knock out that sweet sweet TANcast. Keep up the gret work. Tim being the crotchety uncle, Andy being the crazy bipolar cousin, and Noah being the chill, down to earth brother in law, Here’s to another five years!

Thanks Tim , Andy , and Noah for keeping this awesome podcast going 🙂 there are days like today where nothing seems to go right, and turning on tancast just makes me realise……IT COULD BE WORSE ! LOL just kidding guys 😀 Having a spouse in a different country is hard, but having your podcast and listening to it together gives us a way to keep going 🙂 thank you soooo much… you.are.doin.it!

Hey boys, congrats on 5 years of comedy and thanks for allowing all of us into your lives. This has got to be the most real podcast I have ever heard, just three friends, sometimes more, getting together and just bullshitting with each other. If I had to describe this podcast, it would be that table at the back of the bar with people you get the feel that have been together for years, who call each other on their shit, even the new comers get the treatment sometimes. Anyway, congrats and I hope there’s more to come!

I would like to thank you guys for listening to us and saying such nice things.

I haven’t ever attempted to get into the Nerdist podcast but I do enjoy FeAB with Matt Mira and Scott Mosier.

Initially a bit annoyed with Matt Mira for being younger and more successful than me but I expect I’ll get over it.

    Ah the Star Trek movie.

    Here are some unsolicited thoughts.

Tim, I don’t know about you but both times that I watched “Into Darkness”, the shot of the Enterprise rising out of the ocean on the HILARIOUSLY named planet Niberu I thought “damn that’s such a beautiful ship”.

Noah, I agree they didn’t seem to go as many places, but it seemed to take half the movie to get off Earth. Maybe that is why.

Now, how is it that a briefcase sized transporter can send Kahn across the galaxy to the Klingon homeworld?

And how is it that the Enterprise can get there really, really fast? Shouldn’t that have been days or weeks at warp?

Yes Carol in her underwear was widely held to be gratuitous and the screenwriter copped to it. But I didn’t mind looking and that probably makes me a bad person. http://au.ign.com/articles/2013/05/21/damon-lindelof-apologizes-for-carol-marcus-underwear-scene-in-star-trek-into-darkness

Fortunately because they got to Klingon space really quickly they could get back really quickly too. Clearly they were just about to disengage warp when they were shot out of warp speed because they ended up right next to the planet they were heading towards!

Then the crippled Enterprise drifted from the moon over to the Earth really quickly. Maybe the moon is closer than I thought?

In spite of this grumbling I liked the movie and went to see it twice. =)

    More unsolicited opinion.

    *SPOILERS*

I’m halfway between Tim and Noah in my opinion on the reversed death scene. I thought Spock was fantastic. Kirk should’ve hammed it up more, and could have actually looked sick (e.g. just bloodshot eyes and reddened skin, no need for Walking Dead level of detail). Having his skin shedding off would’ve been better, with a bloodied handprint on the glass…

Spock screaming “KAHN!” made it all better. At least for me.

I’m not sure how many years ago it was that MurrayNE put me onto TANcast, but it’s been great. Thanks guys.

  15. Andrew ShuggNo Gravatar Says:

Andy, you made me wonder whether there is a continuum of enormous cock, perhaps envisaged as a standing wave in a four-dimensional space, and Noah and Liam Neeson are the three-dimensional projections of this continuum into our space?
