TANcast 112 – Training Brunch

August 17th, 2010 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

Sorry for the echo this week. If you suffer through it, you’ll enjoy more Comcast sucking stories, pie talk, tales of the KFC “Skinwich,” Andy’s visit with his brother, and the boys’ review of the Expendables and some other movies.

[CONTENT WARNING] TANcast features mature language and immature hosts but is NOT a representation of the stand up act of Tim Babb. Listener discretion is advised.

    Why would anyone need to record six shows at a time? What are the odds that six channels are showing something worth watching at the same time? What are the odds that two channels are? Save your money, Tim–cancel cable, get a Netflix account, and watch the occasional show on your computer.

    Tim, if you didn’t have to go to the trouble of preparing it, I suspect you’d enjoy this, courtesy of DrK at the Mousetalgia forums:

    I haven’t listened to the whole thing yet but I used to have AT&T U-verse and I fuckin loved it. so there.

    Also: Andy, whomever made you this fake apple pie FAILS AT LIFE because my great grandma makes mock apple pie (it’s a recipe from the depression, btw) and it’s delicious.

    I hope this doesn’t turn into an episode where Alissa posts a new comment every time something comes up in the show and she doesn’t want to wait till the whole episode is over to comment.

    @Jenn There have been times where at least 3 shows i watch were on at the same time and my old DVR can only record two shows at once. So 6 might be overkill but I am sure it would come in handy at some point.

    As far as cable, Direct TV, Comcast, etc. I’m seriously considering getting rid of our TV programming all together and using Netflix and Hulu.. You maybe a little behind on things, but really with what my TV is letting air, I don’t think I’ll miss it.

    Is it sad that I wish the skinwich was real?
    Oh. I saw Scott Pilgrim. I’m literally growing a hate for Michael Cera.

    Here’s something you may not know: Youth In Revolt is based on a series of books written by local SF Bay Area author CD Payne. There are four books in the series. They are hilarious. The movie totally doesn’t do the first book justice. He also wrote a book about San Francisco gangster-style pigeons who are addicted to smoking, Frisco Pigeon Mambo. Quite good.

    Hey! You told my TANlaugh backstory. Even though it really wasn’t so interesting.

    @Hale It didn’t help that I couldn’t read

    @Victoria No…you are not alone, sister 😉

    @Alissa You comment as many times as you like (However I believe you can edit your comments so that you can just add more on to them…I’m not certain this works for everyone, but I know I can do it)

    @Jenn I forgot to say “welcome” after your first post last week…so a belated welcome to you now 🙂

    @Tim I see no edit option. Perhaps you get that because it’s your site. I’m wondering how people get their own pictures on there, though I am fond of the dazed pink octagon that has attached itself to my name.

    @Noah Seriously? Three shows? Does that mean there was also a fourth show you were watching? I’m both troubled and amazed by this….

  11. NoahNo Gravatar Says:

    @Jenn I probably watch too much tv but they also tend to group the shows i watch on the same night and around the same time

  12. GraceNo Gravatar Says:

    I would definitely buy the Disney comedy CD! Fun thing to listen to on the way to Disneyland! P.S @Tim I was @ D-land and I mentioned you to a cast member and he knew who you were! It was an awesome day! @Andy I saw Crocs! I saw them with my eyes!

  13. JennNo Gravatar Says:

    @Grace Did you see those Disney Crocs at Disneyland? The little holes all over them are Mickey-shaped, instead of circular. I think they only come in kids’ sizes, though.

  14. GraceNo Gravatar Says:

    @Jenn yep they were there @ the Disney store in downtown Disney. They had adult sizes there and flip flops!! I took pictures of them. I think I’ll send them
