TANcast 089 – Hell is Gonna Be Hot, Better Bring Your Uggs (High 5 Movie Themes)

March 2nd, 2010 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

Before getting to their count down of their “High 5” list of movie themes, the TANboys start with a “tribute” to Andrew Koenig, then Noah shares another “Cooking by the Book” recipe, Tim reviews Captain EO, the boys indulge in some literal toilet humor, and Tim once again talks shit about the Now Playing Podcast.

[CONTENT WARNING] TANcast features mature language and immature hosts but is NOT a representation of the stand up act of Tim Babb. Listener discretion is advised.

  1. Tony Says:

    Nice, new TANcast.

peopleofwalmart? Hey Tim, Check out peopleofthepark.com for the same concept.

And the little blue elephant dude from Captain Eo? Wasn’t he the keyboard player in Return Of The Jedi?

And forget you all… The Fifth Element was a cinematic masterpiece that helps introduce us to Mila Jovavich’s inablility to keep her clothes on.

    Hudson Hawk…. THAT was tripe.

And remember, it’s not gay if the balls don’t touch.

  2. Joe Anthrax (TANcast's #1 Conservative Fan) Says:

Tim, great choices for the High Five movie theme songs, especially The Incredibles. I also liked what Michael Giacchino did for the new Star Trek movie, especially the inclusion of the TV show theme at the end.

As for being conservative and being able to listen to TANcast, it’s a pretty easy sell. You guys are doing a comedy show/podcast with bits of politics thrown in. This is no different than me having a love for Geroge Carlin, Dennis Leary, Sam Kinison, or any of a host of other comedians who might interject politics into their comedy bits. You are not like a Keith Olberman or Bill O’Reilly, who’s main focus is politics and tries to interject comedy (usually poorly on both counts). So please, don’t feel the need to pull any punches when discussing your political views on the show. I come to the show for the laughs, not the politics.

  3. Fykes Says:

I think you forgot some honorable mentions…
    Jurassic Park
    Harry Potter

And although the movie sucked, and I wish Celine Dion was ON the ship- Titanic has some Iconic music.

And I had a thought while you were Talking about the Fifth Element. you were making fun of the Cross Eyed president. I love that movie. I watched it the other day and laughed myself silly when I noticed striking similarities between Cross Eyed president and cross-eyed, Blind Governor David A. Paterson from New York.

  4. Logan Says:

I am willing to buy Noah a new mic and pay shipping if it will solve his mic fail problem. Let me know.

  5. Logan Says:

Also 5th Element is the shit, I love that movie!

  6. Noah Says:

A lovely offer Logan but I have heard the actual problem is the MacBook USB port. Some day I will get a new MacBoook and hopefully that will fix the issue.

  7. Mysterious Matt (TANcast's #1 Mysterious fan) Says:

I know what those “two good bits” in Fifth Element are. Oh yes. #bosoms

  8. Logan Says:

Chris tucker was the bomb in 5th element πŸ™‚ Super Green.

  9. Nate Says:

The thing with Tim Olyphant was from when he was filming Catch and Release with him. Tim used to riff the shit outta Kevin between takes during filming. So they had a very love hate relationship after that. I get the feeling that they are friendly but that Tim, as most people named that, can be a dick sometimes. <3 you Tim πŸ˜€

Anyway he talks about it in his book Shooting the Sh*t, its in the section where he's talking about filming Die Hard 4. He relates all this info to Justin Long.

  10. Melanie (TANcast's #1 MILF) Says:

So much to comment about this time, I made a list. HEre we go…

Pee Wee theme – I love it.
Boys + CARS = they love it.
Driving Miss Daisy – great choice – completely forgot about it, but copmletely remembered it all when you played it.
Quantum of Solace vs. Casino Royale – anyhting with DAniel Craig is all right by me. πŸ™‚ But I have to give CR the edge: Asking to be whipped in the nuts = badass.
Amish – listening to Stuff You Should Know?? πŸ™‚

  11. Mysterious Matt (TANcast's #1 Mysterious Fan) Says:

Just remembered something that I forgot to mention earlier. The first bit of the Driving Miss Daisy theme sounds identical to part of the music (I think the outro theme) for the old TV -show “Quantum Leap”.
