Man of Steel is coming to theaters this June…there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it. A lot of people are excited. Some of us are leery. I have ranted previously about my dismay at the ditching of the John Williams score. But unless you were reading my blogs back on MySpace back in 2007, you don’t know of the sequel idea I had for Superman Returns. I didn’t fully flesh it out then, so I plan to do so now.

Just a heads up, there will be no new “regular” episode of TANcast this week…BUT we will have two mini episodes. One of the mini-episodes will feature special guest: Geoff! Also, it spawned the concept of “Mark Bane!” After the episode, I was inspired to run with the concept a bit. Enjoy!

Some of you may have noticed I missed a day of blogging. To say that I had a rough 24 hours would be giving the term “rough” quite a workout. I won’t go into details because the main story is not my own, but it involved health scares, hospital visits, and and a whole lot of stress. The result is that everyone is fine now and life will get back to normal relatively soon. So I guess you could say it all has a happy ending. (No, not THAT kind…perv!)
At times like these, you really find out who your friends are. Now, I feel that phrase normally is used to disparage “fair weather” friends, but I mean it to prop up the amazing group of people I have in my life. From Andy and Noah, to Miranda (wife of frequent TANguest: Geoff…who was also there for us, I might add) to friends of my wife’s who you’ve never heard of and will never read this blog…people really stepped up and helped in ways both tangible and emotional. It’s good to know when the Babb train goes off track, there are so many wonderful people ready to help right our course.
Even though most of them will never read this, I want to use this space to say thank you.
…and now this blog series will stop being cryptic and dramatic and go back to being all about typos and failed attempts at humor. The way God intended it!

If you’ve heard the latest TANcast, you may have heard me rant at length about Jennifer Schwalbach’s feminist tirade on the post-Oscar SModcast. After editing the episode, I worry that I come of as a “woman hater.” I like to think that I’m not. I think women should be treated equally under the law and in everyday life. But I wonder…am I the kind of guy I hate?
Truth be told, I found the “We Saw Your Boobs” number at the Oscars hilarious. Does that make me a sexist pig. I get that it’s supposed to be ironic. The joke is supposed to be that this is an entirely inappropriate number for the Academy Awards. But I still laughed my silly ass off. So am I any better than the guy cat calling at women? Jennifer Schwalbach had a complaint. She felt that her gender was being objectified. While I understand her point, I feel she horribly over reacted…but who am I to say that?
Basically I am conflicted. Sometimes I want to be the nice guy and the jerk at the same time and you just can’t. Sadly, I fear this time, I am the jerk.
Ah well…BOOBS!!!
PS-I would have laughed just as hard at a song called “We Saw Your Dong,” but we all know that would have been a way shorter song.

If you listen to the new episode of TANcast, you’ll notice a new TANlaugh jingle. For those of you who don’t watch television and/or don’t live near a Jack in The Box restaurant, you might not recognize the tune. It’s the music form a commercial for a new Jack in the Box sandwich called the “Hot Mess.” Here’s the commercial…
I found myself bobbing my head to this commercial over and over again…so imagine how happy I was when I found out there was a full length version of the song! I played it for Andy after we were done recording and he was overwhelmed by all the sex/food puns. I loved it. Not ironically, either. I truly love this song. How sad is it that my favorite new song in the fast few years comes from a fast food commercial that’s advertising a burger I’ll never eat? I don’t care! Enjoy the full song…
FYI-Today is National Grammar day (March 4th=March Forth) so to make up for the multiple errors I’ve no doubt made in this blog, cleanse your pallet with this video featuring everyone’s favorite grammarian: Grammar Girl!!!

The Back to The Future movies are a lot of things, but good predictors of the future is not one of them. It’s almost 2015 and we’ve got no flying cars, no Mr. Fusion, no Jaws 19, and worst of all, this…

Quite a few folks have asked me when I will be doing shows outside the California Bay Area. The answer is still, “I have no idea.” BUT I am doing a show that’s being live streamed on the web! Tonight at 8pm (Disneyland time) you can log on right here at: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/phil-johnson-and-roadside-attraction
This show is for my buddy, Phil Johnson’s birthday…which means he’ll be on it too! (As well as Myles Weber, whom I don’t know personally, but seems like a funny guy) So enjoy some comedy tonight streamed right into your lap. And if you’ve already heard my comedy CD, 3 O’clock Parade, don’t worry this will be new stuff. If you HAVEN’T heard my comedy CD, help a brotha out, will ya? It’s right here

I’m gonna try this again! It’s March Blog Madness 2: Ghost Protocol!
A few times in the past, I’ve blogged every day for a whole month. The big difference was that I wasn’t a dad and I didn’t have a whole separate job to do besides stand-up comedy. So as I try to blog everyday this March, certain questions come to mind. Can I juggle all these things and still post a blog every day? Will anyone one care one way or the other? All these questions and more will be answered in March Blog Madness 2: The Wraith of Khan!
Be sure to tune into tomorrow’s blog for a link to watch me doing comedy…streaming LIVE tomorrow night!!!
