Revenge of the Sith-head

Day 13

They say you shouldn’t feed the trolls, but “they” don’t have to create content for a blog everyday this month. So before I wrote yesterday’s blog, I tweeted everyone involved to let them know I was going to do so.

Was I hoping that crazy green rage lady would respond? Oh yes. Was I right? Hell yes! And here we go. Note: I’ve decided to just quote her tweets instead of making pictures out of them. It makes this easier to read since she totally “Kevin Smithed” her response by continuing her comment over several tweets. Warning: foul language…again. Read the rest of this entry »

Anger Leads to Hate…

Day 12

I came across this Twitter exchange while I was staring at my phone to avoid awkward elevator conversations. It starts with one of several Twitter folks pretending to be Darth Vader reacting to a photo of the moon.

Now, is there anything in that post that gets you upset? Like really upset? Angry enough to start spewing foul venom upon the internet? No? Well then you’re not this crazy green lady! (Warning: FOUL language) Read the rest of this entry »

Hey Tim, You Missed a Spot

September 12th, 2013 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

30 Days and 30 Blogs
Day 11 (sort of)

Those of you who are following this blog closely (thank you) may have noticed that I didn’t do a blog yesterday. I would love to tel you that it was out of respect for September 11th, and to be honest, that did play a factor, but really I just got too wrapped up editing the Kingdom Comedy video I posted a sneak peek of the day before. I got so involved that its done and will go live Friday morning. (NO word on when Disney will pull it down…I’m skating on thin ice with this one)

But I’ll tell you who found an even better way to rise above that solemn day, my neighbors. If you listen to the podcast, you may recall I spoke of them getting busy in their backyard on episode 254 (before it got serious). Well they clearly learned their lesson…because this time they got busy in the shower but with the window wide open. They were loud. I was sitting on the completely other side of my house and I heard them. They were so loud, I heard a neighbor from the other side yell, “JESUS CHRIST, KNOCK IT OFF!”

I wanted to tell that neighbor that if these people don’t hump loudly in the shower, then the terrorists have won. Suck that, Bin Laden!!!

A Sneak Peak at the Next Kingdom Comedy

September 10th, 2013 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

30 Days and 30 Blogs
Day 10

For those of you who don’t know, I am a huge Disneyland fan. Back in 2007, I started a web series called “Tim Babb’s Kingdom Comedy.” It started off as a way for me to do the Disneyland jokes that I wanted to put in my stand up act…but were too obscure for “main stream” audiences. It sort of morphed into a Disneyland sketch show. Anyway I did quite few of them, but then I took a bit of a hiatus when my son was born. This year I’ve stated up again but it’s been a while since my last one. Rest assured, I’m not going on break again, it just takes a bit longer to put these together and I have to be a bit more creative now that I can’t run to the park with my camera any time I want.

All this to say there are at least 2 new episodes that are very close to being done. I thought I’d give the folks who suffer through my blog a “treat” by letting you see a few screen caps from the work in progress.

Does that freak you out? It’s supposed to be the Disney cartoon version of yours truly. But why am I holding that microphone at Disney California Adventure? I guess you’ll have to wait and see.

And here’s something for the ladies. Really want to keep the details of this one under my hat until it’s ready, but I couldn’t deny you a sneak peak at my “big, buffed and super sexy” look.

Well that’s it. Hope you’ll check out the videos when they’re done. Thanks for reading.

Children’s Literature Reviews: The Glove Balloon

Day 9

As a father, I get to read a lot of different books to my son. This experience is surprisingly more rewarding than pre-parent Tim would have guessed. (Apparently it’s also good for the kid. Learning or something. Whatevs.) But the downside is that you have to read a lot of books over and over. When you do that, the flaws really start to jump out at you. Over the next few weeks, I’m going to examine some of these books. Warning: spoilers! (As in you’re going to see the whole book). Today we’re looking at the Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club House mini-book, The Glove Balloon.

Dog Tired

September 8th, 2013 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

30 Days and 30 Blogs
Day 8
I just finished the dishes, making coffee, helping my wife with two projects for school, and editing the latest TANcast that we recorded this morning before I worked an 8 hour day.

What I’m saying is…I’m tired. I don’t have any wit for you people tonight…so here’s a picture of a dog at my office.

That’s cute right? It look’s like he googled squirrels and fire hydrants. Hilarious. Now leave me alone until tomorrow.

WTF, Whovians?

Day 7

So I’ve been plugging along at Doctor Who episodes when I can. (I don’t know where all my free time went..I think my kid is hiding it somewhere). So far, it’s been pretty enjoyable. Nothing on the level of Star Trek, but enjoyable. Then a few minutes ago I finished watching the episode entitled “Father’s Day.”

Don’t let the Syfy Channel-looking special effects fool you…

F*** you! Yes f*** all you Doctor Who fans for not warning me this was coming. You all knew this episode was hanging there waiting for me when you said, “Start with the 9th Doctor.” Daleck my balls*! So far this show has been light fluffy stuff like living plastic mannequins and farting aliens wearing human disguises. All the while the Doctor mugs and jokes his way through one wacky disaster after another. That’s fun enough. Who wouldn’t enjoy some wacky time traveling antics? Read the rest of this entry »

DisneyLAND or Disney WORLD?

September 6th, 2013 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

30 Days and 30 Blogs
Day 6

So I know a fair amount of Disney fans read this blog semi-regularly. I have an opinion question for you…

Which do you prefer, Disneyland or Walt Disney World…and WHY?

I”m not sure where I stand yet. I’ve visited Disneyland probably a thousand times by now and I’ve only been to Disney World once. Maybe I’m not the most impartial judge.

But what do you think? Which one’s better? Let me know in the comments (please)

Someone REALLY Likes Skyfall

September 5th, 2013 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

30 Days and 30 Blogs
Day 5

So at my “day job,” they have a cafeteria where we can get some grub. All sorts of stuff, from pizza to burgers to sushi. It’s a bit pricey, but still pretty sweet. That’s not the point if this blog, however.

I go there around the same time every day (a little after 1pm, if you need to know the specifics). And normally I have my earbuds in, listening to some podcast or other…but occasionally, the music they play in there makes it through. And lately I’ve noticed how often that music is Adele’s song, “Skyfall.” In fact, it happened yesterday and I pointed it out to a co-worker who happened to be standing next to me. THen it happened today and the co-worker was on the other side of the cafeteria. SO I ran over to him and said, “Listen! Skyfall! AGAIN!”

He looked at me as though I was a freak (can’t blame him). But now I want to know why. What is the point of playing that song at the same time every day? Is it a coincidence? Is it part of a pre-set music mix that plays the same songs at the same time every day and Skyfall is the only one I recognize? (I don’t listen to the radio anymore) Or maybe someone has just decided the 1:00pm hour is the perfect time to salute James Bond?

Well THAT’S absurd. We all know the perfect time to salute James bond is 10:07.
