I had a big long post written up about how I changed from a far right conservative, woman and sexual minority hating teenage proto-neckbeard who was sliding down the alt-right pipeline before that was really a thing into…basically a super far left wing transbian and how that happened and how you can help other people come out of that dark place but it was way too long and way too personal so I think the succinct point is this: the only way to fix this is exposure to others and learning to empathize with them. I don’t know how or if empathy can be taught, sometimes it takes something directly affecting them or those they care about before they expand that to caring about others but that’s what it took for me. I left the conservative household I grew up and went to liberal brainwashing college and actually interacting with people, learning their struggles, and eventually learning to care about myself and others was what set me right. This mostly revolves around healthcare oddly enough and how shitty the US health insurance scam really is. The current state of affairs in the US is what keeps shoving me further left all the time but I digress. See? This is already too long and the original was easily triple this.
