We Want YOU to Open the Show!
March 28th, 2011 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)For almost a year we’ve had the same intro to the show…well we’re switching it up a bit. As you may have heard in our latest episode, we want to hear YOU do it! That’s right, read the script below and send it to us in an mp3 or wav file at tim(at)TANcast.com and you could be hearing your voice read the opening of the next episode of TANcast.
All you have to do is read. You don’t need to add any fancy music or anything like that. Just read it, send it, and then sit back and wait to tell you’re friends that you are on a podcast heard by DOZENS of people! Can’t wait to hear you!
Here’s the script:
Hi this is [your name/nickname/superhero identity] from [city and/or country…or business you’d like to plug] and you’re listening to the TANcast Podcast!
In 2001, 3 friends moved into a house together.
Because their names were Tim, Andy, and Noah; they called the place “the TANhouse.”
By 2007, these friends had gone their separate ways, Andy to Atlanta, Noah to San Francisco and Tim to Los Angeles.
Now they get together on the internet every week and discuss movies, tv, tech, politics, food, Disney, comics, Star Trek, Apple, or sometimes just stories of the good ol’ days.
These conversations are raw, explicit and contain adult themes and content.
This podcast is not recommended for younger listeners.
When you hear this sound, [pause] that means there’s a link to what the boys are talking about in the show notes.
If none of this scared you off, then you are prepared to listen to the TANcast.

Only if I can also sing the funky bass theme that plays while you all open the show.

@Victoria Awesome
@Tank It’s a deal ๐

I am so tempted to do this, sadly though a few things are holding me back:
1. I don’t have a mic (apart from the built-in laptop one but I’d be better off trying to shout my message across the Atlantic ocean to you than that).
2. Time/Location – with school and all that crap I struggle to find any time to myself were I’m completely alone and in silence to record something.
3. My voice – I have a heavy local accent and a really deep voice so all you Americans (and International listens, even British!) could find my voice either confusing or more ear rapey than Andy’s. I’m also a shy guy by nature and tend to slur my words/randomly pause for coughs.
Saying all this that doesn’t mean it’s impossible, I could find time and try my normal voice or a put on silly accent. Anyway I’ll get back to you on it, if you see a message in your inbox from me, you know I’ve just made a fool of myself on audio ๐

@Breeno
I’d love to hear an Irish accent!

@TANcast – Can we have Breeno record the “I have a very specific set of skills…” speech from “Taken”? THAT’D be cool…

Sending mine in today!

I’m with Victoria – I’d love to hear Breeno!
I may have to have hubby show me how to record something with his fancy shiz, and send something in.
April 10th, 2011 at 10:12 pm
Ah, but for the want of a microphone…
April 13th, 2011 at 7:09 pm
hmmmm…
April 13th, 2011 at 7:11 pm
Ha! Rick, if you do one you have to include a line where you say “Wow…this is some nice theme music” ๐

any particular email address to attach to? Will try Tim@…
April 17th, 2011 at 7:05 pm
Just saw what you said Tim… okie!
April 19th, 2011 at 9:53 am
Sorry about the email address thing… I apparently don’t love the reading thing before the asking thing…

Okay, so I am new (sort of) to TANCast and I was listening to: “Attach Heaven yo your Shower” this morning on my way to work. It asked if there were any Black listeners out there and so I wanted to respond. I am a Black Puerto Rican female listener who LOVES your show. I’m also a practicing attorney. Ha! Just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the laughs. Love you Noah. Love your brain Andy. But Tim…you had me from “hello”. Toodles.

@Luisa I love it when listeners we never knew about comment. Not that I don’t love the regular comm enters any less. You are all my children.
