About the “udecided” Trump supporters, I heard it described pretty well: They’re not looking for a reason not to vote for him, they’re looking for an excuse TO vote for him and don’t want to admit it.
Despite our difference in ages (and, you know), Andy and I had such strikingly similar upbringings and family beliefs and our path from right, to middle, to left and absolute frustration and despair for the people who refuse to see that they’re hurting themselves by voting for R’s with these policies. They’re so caught up in the single issue voting about abortion because “The demoncrats are killing millions of babies!!!” and **Anything** else gets a pass from racism to misogyny. Sometimes that’s religion and sometimes it’s just propganda and indoctrination. I’m just tired of it all and it’s frustrating that this is our only recourse.
I know Andy asked what the point of ranting like this is and of course I don’t think every episode should have half of it devoted to Trump rants but sometimes it’s nice to hear from others who are on the left because the right says their bullshit with SUCH conviction that sometimes I question my own perceptions. Like how could they be so confident if it isn’t true? It’s even harder being trans because one side actively hates me and the other side doesn’t seem to actually care (See: Harris’ transphobic actions as AG)
Keeping up with politics is exhausting and I get that a lot of people don’t want to do it but that apathy is what causes stuff like this in the first place.
Dammit Andy you inspired ME to rant and I could keep going so I’ll just stop here.
