Throwing a 3 year old birthday party is harder than you’d think. You have to plan to keep a bunch of kids of various ages entertained, fed, and happy. My mom and my wife did the majority of the preparations for my son’s birthday party yesterday. And thanks to them, it was reviewed by one young attendee as “The best day of my life.” SO I’d say it’s safe to call that a win.

However, after the party, there’s still plenty to do. So much food and other stuff to put away, throw away or just get out of the way…and THIS is why my wife is awesome.

Midway through the party, my stomach problems too a turn for the immensely painful. I made it to the end of the party, but by the time we put my son to bed I kept breaking out in fever sweats and at one point, I almost lost consciousness (a part I forgot to bring up on this week’s show). So I curled up in bed like a qumph, and my wife cleaned up everything. When I was finally feeling well enough to get up, all the dishes were washed and put away, all the left over cake was in the fridge, the food was in baggies…she had done it all.
