DisneyLAND or Disney WORLD?

September 6th, 2013 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

30 Days and 30 Blogs
Day 6

So I know a fair amount of Disney fans read this blog semi-regularly. I have an opinion question for you…

Which do you prefer, Disneyland or Walt Disney World…and WHY?

I”m not sure where I stand yet. I’ve visited Disneyland probably a thousand times by now and I’ve only been to Disney World once. Maybe I’m not the most impartial judge.

But what do you think? Which one’s better? Let me know in the comments (please)

WDW, since its much larger. You could spend more time there and not see everything.
DL definitely has its better features, especially the classic rides are usually longer/better themed. But if I lived across the street, it’d be WDW.

Speaking as a fan, I really enjoy the DLR because it’s closer together and cozy, and quite charming. The DCA refurb is incredible compared to what it once was.

Speaking as a Cast Member, there are more opportunities at WDW in terms of advancing in my field. 4 parks=more shows/entertainment offerings. In my opinion, Aladdin is cute, but Finding Nemo kind of rocks its socks off.

Ummm speaking as my handle on TANCAST has WDW inside of it, i bet you could guess where i stand on this issue πŸ˜› Besides being the place I met my hubby and have worked now twice, Disney WORLD is my home πŸ™‚ All 4 parks hold their own unique charm and has way more to do and see in my opinion. The 1st and only time i went to Disneyland (for part of our honeymoon) we went to DCA which i loved due to the kick butt Carsland and Paradise Pier but i was really throw off entering Disneyland and seeing everything so squished together. Then exiting the park each day at Disneyland , we were bombarded with homeless people… seeing as WDW has 50 square miles of land, there are no hobo sightings… No offense against homeless people but it kinda kills the magic compared to what is familiar to me , which is WDW πŸ™‚

Neither, Disneyland Paris. No seriously, Disneyland Paris.

Okay, I may be a little biased being as DLP is the only Disney Resort I’ve visited, but even when I will have visited every Disney Park in the world (that’s my lifelong dream, anyway) Disneyland Paris will always have that special place in my heart. I don’t know how much the rest of you guys know about your European cousin, but I’ll try my best to explain why I love it so much.

Firstly there is the castle, I mean just look at it! (http://anthony.atkielski.pagesperso-orange.fr/SleepingBeautyCastleLarge.jpg) Even taking my ‘DLP fanboy’ hat off I gotta admit I think our castle is the most beautiful out of all the Magic Kingdoms. It’s a variation of Sleeping Beauty’s castle but is by no means the only Disney Park classic that has been given a new and unique twist. Our Pirates of the Caribbean is allegedly the longest in any park (and Jack Sparrowless!), our Space Mountain is completely different both inside and out, Main Street has 2 indoor areas stretching the length of it at left and right to accommodate for the poorer climate in France, our Haunted Mansion is a complete re-imagining called Phantom Manor… I could go on and on. Also, the Tower of Terror in DCA was technically supposed to be our’s. The design was originally planned for Paris’ 2nd park (Walt Disney Studios) but was shelved and moved to Disneyland Resort to help save its own 2nd gate. Thankfully we eventually got our own ToT in 2008 and it’s amazing.

I hope this hasn’t been too long, I could talk for hours about my love for DLP. I just wanted to give a little bit of insight to my fellow Disney TANcasties that the little old Europe park that opened in the 90s is a lot more than the butt of jokes these days. Sure it mightn’t be the biggest or the oldest park out there, but Disneyland Paris will always be my no.1.

ok I have never been to WDW so I can’t really be impartial (and I work there so yeah I’m biased) but Disneyland has so much more heart. we’re the only park Walt set foot it! he lived there. from what I’ve heard from other guests is that you have to trek a day and a half to get any where. while in D-LAND you can go across the park in minutes πŸ™‚
