In 1986, a trifecta of awesome was bestowed upon young Tim Babb. Someone decided to combine the “Star Wars guy” (George Lucas) with Michael Jackson and do it in Disneyland. In doing so, they caused my young brain to melt with sheer joy. It was a 17 minute 3-D movie called Captain EO…and it’s back!!!
I went on last weekend to behold the glory and I was, indeed, transported back to my youth. But there was one thing I wasn’t expecting…I do not remember Angelica Houston’s character being kinda hot.
Maybe it’s because she’s part black and part white (I can relate to THAT). Maybe it’s because being raised on Star Trek makes me predisposed to be attracted to aliens (and she looks a little like the Borg Queen from Star Trek: First Contact)…but when watching her this time I was like, “Well HELLO, Supreme Leader! YOU can infect MY world with YOUR presence anytime. Snoogans!” I mean she comes with her own “play time” suspension rig. What more could you ask for?

Tim, do you know if Disneyworld in Florida is going to be bringing back the Captain EO show? I ask, because my family and I will be vacationing out there this July, and I would love to catch it, since I wasn’t able to when I went to Disneyland in my youth.

Sadly, I do not know. I haven’t heard any word of it. Only people wanting it to happen but no word from Disney. 🙁
