I chose sauce because I prefer less sauce than one usually finds on a pizza. However, I’m wondering if that was the wrong choice, since technically the amount of sauce is important to me. So now I can’t decide how to answer because I feel like they are all equally important, which makes me think the question is worded poorly. Which probably means I thought about this too much.

Even though I am not a vegetarian, veggie pizza is my favorite. I say meat is not necessary. Everything else is a must. Especially the crust.

I’m with Geoff. Sort of. The sauce is easily the least important part, because it’s the only part that can be left off any pizza, and I’ll still enjoy it. It’s also the only part that there can be too much of. No matter how much cheese is put on, how many veggies, how much meat, or however thick the crust is… it’s all good. Too much sauce is definitely going to ruin a pizza though. So I suppose, depending how you look at it, the sauce is the most important part to me. Since it’s the only part that can ruin any pizza.
However, I’m going to assume you guys meant the part that you’ll miss the least if it’s left off completely. So I’m gonna go with the sauce.

I believe that all parts of the pizza are equally important in order to create and enjoy a pizza. Without veggies there would be no sauce. Without the crust there would only be an Italian splat on a metal dish. Without the cheese there would be no savory, melty goodness. Without the meat, how would vegetarians argue about how bad it is for you? And without the sauce how could one try to swallow the dry flake of skin you would be making?

Wow, Vrej…clearly you have given this some serious thought. Impressive.
