23-17
January 4th, 2009 . by Andy (TANcast's #1 Ear-Rapist)It shouldn’t be possible, but a team that was 4-8 about a month ago managed to make the playoffs with an 8-8 record and then beat a 12-4 team whose quarterback was just declared League’s Most Valuable Player.
My Chargers were screwed out of at least two wins this season thanks to blown calls, so I think their record is misleading. They had a points-for to points-against differential better than half of the 11-5 and 12-4 teams, including Payton Manning’s Colts.
On the other hand, Indianapolis had the #5 rated passing offense, were the favored winners (by 1 point), and came in on a 9 game winning streak. Oh, and that League MVP thing…
It was a squeaker, with two goal-line/end-zone Chargers turn-overs, back-to-back Colts penalties in overtime that gave San Diego an unexpected first down and then easy field goal position, and other crazy plays and calls throughout. I think I’m just now starting to untie the knots in my stomach, more than three hours after the fact.
For our foreign readers, this post is about American Football. It is awesome.

I wish I understood football.

Well shit, go Chargers! lol, Actually, I don’t really care about the Chargers. I’ve always been a fan of New England, Greenbay, and San Francisco (yes, I know San Francisco majorly sucks, but I’ve been a fan my whole life, lol). The only teams I really DISlike, are Dallas and Oakland. Other than that, I don’t care. Hell, it’s not like I really keep up with football any more anyway. I watch the Super Bowl, and ignore everything else. Been too busy with other crap, but let’s face it… Super Bowl Sunday, the Earth actually stops moving around the sun so we can enjoy the game without missing a damn thing, lol.

I’m in New Orleans, so I’m bombarded by Saints fans daily. It kind of turned me off from sports very early on. Now I work at a place where you can tell when they win or lose by how the people are acting. If they win, you get a “Good morning!” and a “FUCK YOU” when they lose.

Hey guys…remember me? Yeah, I’m from Indianapolis, originally.
And ya know what?
You get used to this thing with the Colts.
We were more shocked when they WON the Super Bowl a few years ago, than we were shocked whenever they lost a game that, by all rights, they should have won.
Being a Colts fan is like being a Cubs fan. You hope and you hope, but good things never come.
