Someone REALLY Likes Skyfall

30 Days and 30 Blogs
Day 5

So at my “day job,” they have a cafeteria where we can get some grub. All sorts of stuff, from pizza to burgers to sushi. It’s a bit pricey, but still pretty sweet. That’s not the point if this blog, however.

I go there around the same time every day (a little after 1pm, if you need to know the specifics). And normally I have my earbuds in, listening to some podcast or other…but occasionally, the music they play in there makes it through. And lately I’ve noticed how often that music is Adele’s song, “Skyfall.” In fact, it happened yesterday and I pointed it out to a co-worker who happened to be standing next to me. THen it happened today and the co-worker was on the other side of the cafeteria. SO I ran over to him and said, “Listen! Skyfall! AGAIN!”

He looked at me as though I was a freak (can’t blame him). But now I want to know why. What is the point of playing that song at the same time every day? Is it a coincidence? Is it part of a pre-set music mix that plays the same songs at the same time every day and Skyfall is the only one I recognize? (I don’t listen to the radio anymore) Or maybe someone has just decided the 1:00pm hour is the perfect time to salute James Bond?

Well THAT’S absurd. We all know the perfect time to salute James bond is 10:07.

I’d use Shazam to see at other times of the day if the same songs are playing. I’d carefully document this, and confirm if there is a social experiment going on. You may have even stumbled upon a gov’t brain washing event at your work. Be careful and watch your back! Eyes may be on you….
