A Joke for Maybe 20 People

April 8th, 2010 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

Talk about a video aimed at a small audience….to get the video below you have to have already seen the Star Trek “It’s a Fake/It’s Real” video we talked about a few episodes back AND you have to know about KFC’s new “Double Down” sandwich PLUS you have to know that there is now a vegan version of the sandwich. If you’ve already got all that information, then you might get a chuckle out of this:

In fact, I got several chuckles out of this. Love the effect at about 2:00!

As an omnivore, I am looking forward to the Double Down. In fact, yesterday I had one of the chicken breasts patties that makes up the “bun” for the Double Down, and it was pretty delicious. And if that is any indication of the how the sandwich should taste, I’ll be getting one on the 12th. The vegan one…not so much.

Also, good work on the video remix…I had some good chuckles from watching.

Tim, good turn around on this. I posted the link to the Consumerist article around what, 11 last night? I was hoping to see something like this, but that was fast!

    Bravo!

Okay, since I still live in the dark ages without a Twitter or Facebook account, I’m going to post here about my Double Down experience…

Probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. The sauce was a spicy mayo, the cheese was a nice Monteray Jack, and the “buns” were moist and not as greasy as I thought they would be. My only complaint is that the bacon was that pre-made microwave stuff, but I can’t fault them on that. The combo comes with “fries” and a drink, but after the sandwich, I couldn’t finish the fries (it was just that filling). Not something for everyday consumption, but what fast food is? This is one thing that might actually make me want to go back to KFC. Plus, this sandwich is actually better nutritionally than a Big Mac…

I felt a little dirty after eating it, probably wouldn’t have it again.

@Noah…I’m sure the first time with a Thai hooker leaves you with the same feeling, but the urge to have it again is always too great… 😉

I ate it. It was REAL. I honestly felt worse after eating anything from Taco Bell or Burger King. I doubt I’ll have another.

You could ask Noah, I had one of these day of release for lunch.
It’s a novelty, nothing more. Mine was greasy, the sauce didn’t taste right, the bacon was all but non-existent. And it seemed SALTY. Between the salt and the grease, I don’t think I’ll be going back to it.
