Apparently the guy who this happened to a suspicious background and they think he was looking for a payday. There’s a sub link in the article about the “victim” being 700k in debt and 5 months behind in his Prius payments.

It’s interesting that you brought up group chat, because I was wondering if the crew had any ideas for the upcoming Episode 100? I would like to put in a suggestion for a live call-in show. I’ve heard it done before where the podcast set a time to record, e-mailed listeners a Skype number and time to call in, put the callers in a group chat room and pulled them out one by on to talk to them. I’m not certain how the logistics of this would work, but it was a fun listen for the mentioned podcast. Just a suggestion…
