Mike — I make a special point of not writing at ALL while listening to TANcast. I can’t even blog properly with this nonsense (I mean that in the best way possible of course) playing, let alone NaNo-ing. That’s a dangerous game you’re playing. Lol.

Love the show, though you tease us with the bits you edit out… I am seething with curiosity about what was so risky that you had to remove it from the show. Though from the sounds of the topics around the edit it was probably about people who have direct control over the amount of sex you’d get and could cut the stream off entirely.

I posted on Twitter that I was going to be doing an experiment to see what kind of effect TANcast had on my writing. The writing itself will be linked at the end of my findings. As for what I learned from this experiment:
#1) TANcast took what was a PG novel for the first 2 days of it’s writing, and made it R. Probably X by the time I’m done. It took the innocent mind that was doing the writing for the first 2 days, and took it to the darker, more sexual corners of my mind. This is shown in both the rape reference, and the necrophilia reference.
#2) TANcast drastically reduces productivity, taking my average 1,000 words/hr, and dropping it to 506 words. This is explained by the frequent bouts of laughter that would make typing difficult.
I guess my findings can be summarized simply by saying that TANcast is not conducive to maximum productivity. Nor does it keep someone in the proper mindset for writing something appropriate for most audiences.
