My Wife’s a Mac and I’m PO’ed

September 9th, 2009 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

30 Days and 30 Blogs: Day 8

My wife just got a Macbook that she uses for all her important school stuff. She would like to do some work from home on it…which includes getting on the internet. But for some reason every time we try and log her machine on to our wireless network, not only does it not work but the entire network crashes. I have to reboot the modem and the router after every attempt.

Basically what I’m saying is, her Mac sucks so much it’s ruining the internet for my two PC’s who know how to play nice on the network.

But Macs are the easy, user friendly computer, right? So I try their “help” feature…nothing. Their trouble shooting techniques…no love. I try to look for help on the internet (after I re-boot the fuckin’ router and modem again)…a sea of unhelpful bullshit. I am getting ready to cal Justin Long at home and tell him he better get his Mac hocking ass over here and help me figure this shit out.

“Hey…stop with your silly jibber jabber and get this piece of shit to work!”

While it’s safe to say I will not be switching to Mac in the near future, I’m still very pissed that my wife can’t even get on line with her own computer in her own home. Fuck Mac! Fuck Mac right in the bite in it’s apple!

What I want to know is who are they interviewing that have all those PC problems? What the hell are they doing to their computers? I’ve had my PC now for 10 years, no spam problems, no random shut downs, basically no complaints.

Ditto Chelsea, and any problem I have had is a google away from being solved.

Ive had my ibook for about 9 years. no problems, ever!

Also my cat dumped a whole glass of water on to it and after a few days of drying, worked like new.

But after it dies we are getting a PC.

I’m also a PC person, and have never found anything to like about Macs. The big excuse I keep hearing is Mac is sooo much better for video editing and graphic design, but I’ve never had any problems on a PC. Of course, if there ever was a problem, there are always tons of other programs to choose from.

I am a PC person, I think Mac’s are pretty, but PC rule the world in ease of use. I have had my fair share of viruses and crippling pc problems. Many of them had to do with 3rd party hardware or software, not microsoft….

Good luck with your wifes mac.

I’ve always loved the design of Mac’s but I’ve never had the money to be able to get one. Though now that they are Intel based an there is a blossoming Hackintosh community I may just drop the $120 to get a OS disk and throw caution to the wind.

The reason Macs have less viruses is not from superior antivirus or anything like that. The people who write viruses figure that the Mac users are already suffering enough, and don’t bother to write viruses for Mac. It’s sad that Macs can’t even get negative attention….

Update to this story: I went over and fixed it for them but it did take some time.
