Stupid hack, gigs are for comics!

It was only by about 20 minutes or so and I still got on and got out of there at a reasonable hour…so it wasn’t the end of the world. But I was kind of annoyed because it wasn’t like Dave Chappelle, Dane Cook, and Brian Reagan walked in. It was 3 comics who if I said their names you wouldn’t have heard of them. Not saying they weren’t funny (in fact one of them is one of my favorite comics in LA…but more on that later) I’m just saying they weren’t “stars.” It was a little annoying to be bumped for “non-celebrities.” But whatever…it’s just a reminder that I am a very small fish in a very large pond. But apparently another comic didn’t take it so well…
Towards the end of the night after all the drop ins have left and most of the regularly scheduled comics (like myself) had already done our sets, one of the last scheduled comics gets up and says some disparaging remarks about the 3 drop-ins. In particular, he said that one of the comics had “bad delivery.” This happened to be the comic that is one of my favorites. He’s also been on Comedy Central and a bunch of other things. He’s fucking hilarious!!! This dude had some major balls talking shit about such a gifted comic.
Then he really pissed me off…he proceeded to rip off two jokes from Bobby Slayton. Not only steals the jokes but even some of the tag lines to the jokes! Rule #1 in comedy: don’t steal! Rule #2: if you’re dumb enough to break rule number 1, don’t break it so blatantly that it’s obvious to anyone that you’re a thief!!!
Then the dude does a STREET JOKE! The kinda jokes we do on TANlaughs…kinda shitty, but funny in spite of itself. He’s stealing from old ass street jokes now? Rule #3: if you’re gonna be dumb enough to steal AND be dumb enough to make it obvious, don’t steal a shitty joke!
This dude tried to diss on a established, comic who writes brilliant stuff and then pulled a hack trifecta (a “hack trick” you might say). Thus making him Tim Babb’s “Douchebag of the Week!” HURRAY!!!

Jess… I think I see a pattern developing. While dick pics do solve most problems… it only works until you get a sexual harassment charge. Then, I wouldn’t suggest the dick pic approach any more. Until that, though, it seems to be a good approach.

But yes, quite the douche, I’d say. Judging by what you said tho, he didn’t go last, which I think is pretty good. In my experience when the last comic is lameorz it kinda ruins the whole show for me. So hopefully someone after him cleaned up his mess!
