I Don’t Care About the Superbowl

January 31st, 2009 . by Tim Babb (TANcast's #1 Host/Editor Fan)

Am I the only one? I mean I never care about sports in general but this year…I don’t even care about the commercials.  I actually have the desire to AVOID the game. In the past I’ve just been indifferent.

Maybe this makes me less of a man, but then again maybe you can suck my manly nuts! Why does it concern me that some guys I’ve never met are playing a game I’m not interested in? I’d have more invested if I were playing a football video game…at least I’d have a real stake in the game. Hell, even if Andy or Noah were playing a football video game, I’d be more prone to watch that than the Superbowl. (Of course Andy would spend 4 hours exploring the 30 yard line and there’d be no actual game to watch)

That’s it…just had to piss on the Superbowl.  To those who will watch, have fun. To those like me who don’t care…is there any Star Trek on that day? 😉

At least I can spend the day editing TANcast 35 – Train Wreck 2: Wreck Harder!

Tim, you left out the third category. The poor fucker who has never missed a Super Bowl, but this year has to go searching for furniture, and so can’t watch this year. Then again… that’s probably a pretty exclusive category. It pisses me off even more, because I play a game online, and they’re opening a special shop during half time only, but I’m not going to have access to the rare goodies, because I have to go earching for furniture. *sigh* This royally bites.

I got home with 48 seconds left in the first half, which means I didn’t miss the whole game, and i got access to my game’s half-time shop. I guess it all worked out after all 🙂

I haven’t turned on a tv or left my house today. I was able to completely ignore it all!

I could not ignore it! The traffic here sucks because of it! All the news channels and radio stations were talking about who was where and how special it would be to go to these parties. So even thought I wasn’t watching I couldn’t get away from it!

There was a bit of Star Trek awesome in the commercials though Tim. They have the new trailer up on the main site. http://www.startrekmovie.com/ Gave me goose bumps.

I was able to avoid almost all of the SuperBowl except I saw a little of it on the tv screens that were on in the restaurants I passed while walking home form the movie “Slum Dog Millionaire.” (A good flick by the way)

I saw the Trek commercial on-line the day before the SuperBowl…it looks good. I’ve still got a wait and see attitude towards the flick. I want it to be great but I fear it won’t be.
