It's not legal where you live either. But yea, I'm extremely sad that Prop 8 passed, but I'm not surprised in the slightest. Really, San Francisco and LA are the only really liberal cities in California, and when they are combatting the rest of the state on such a big issue, they simply aren't going to win. You'd be surprised at how conservative every other area of California is. Also, and I hope no one gets in a huff about this one, statistics show that minorities don't vote as much. Guess where a lot of minorities live. LA. Inner-city areas. Etc. Also, according to some polls [I forget where I read this but I'll try to find out and post a link here] are showing that a lot of black people voted Yes on 8. So...I dunno what that's about but that probably threw things off a lot. Especially in the cities. But I still believe that things will get turned around soon. The fight isn't over yet. Not by my account anyway. And if anyone anywhere in America who is whining about this gives up on this effort, then I don't think they cared enough in the first place. I for one am still fighting on behalf of all the people I love who don't have the right to marry the ones that they love. This is just a minor setback. We need not let it get us down.
